Meeting Iron Chef Marc Forgione! 


Last night I had the chance to meet a Food Network Iron Chef!!! Season 3 winner, Marc Forgione, was at Macy’s as part of their Culinary Council. Before the event I was able to sit down with Chef Forgione with a few of my favorite  bloggers to ask him a few questions. I asked him what his favorite spice to cook with was. I was a little surprise to find out his favorite spice was black pepper. He said “it just adds heat to stuff, and you can completely change an entire dish just by adding a few cracks of black pepper.”

Next we watched Chef Forgione do a cooking demonstration. First, he made Fried Quail & Waffles with Ginger and Rosemary Infused Honey. It was my first time having quail and it was awesome!


Next, he made Meatballs with 10 Minute Tomato Sauce. The meatballs were made with veal, beef, and pork. He also made Polentta with Rosemary Brown Butter. It was good. Very moist and flavorful.


For the finale, Chef made a Chocolate Cake with a Chocolate Buttercream with a Homemade Whipped Cream on top. He said it was his grandmother’s recipe. It was AMAZING!!!


Later, Chef Forgione was so nice to give me on of his new cookbooks. Thank you Chef!! I can’t wait to try some of the recipes.


Chef Forgione just opened a restaurant here in Atlanta called American Cut. I’ll be visiting very soon!!
